Before you begin to create your theme, there are some basics you need to know that will help you.

This is supposed to be a review of the basic concepts and techniques that you should already know, which will speed up the development of the theme.

The base theme was introduced in the CE (Community Edition “Corrected Energy”) Version 1.4 and EE (Enterprise Edition) Version 1.8.

The frontend of Magento has been structured in such a way that it allows the designers to create themes based on the basic theme (parent theme), without changing its structure.
