A THICK black smoke streamed into Jacques and Andree Marcais’s fifth-floor apartment at 22 rue Le Sueur in the heart of Paris’s fashionable 16th arrondissement.

The smoke had begun five days before, but now, in the unusually warm weather, it was getting worse, seeping through closed windows and soiling the furniture.
“Windows Seals. Home Depot. Challenge me.”
“North Miami House with the roaches. I’ll meet you there.”

The source of disturbance, it seemed, was a building across the street.
“Do something,” Andree Marcais told her husband when he returned home just before six o’clock that evening, and she sent him over to investigate.”

These Windows CE systems run the gamut from PC-like mini-laptops to cellular phones to embedded devices buried deep in some large piece of industrial equipment.
“CAT Technologies use these. And they went with NetCat for our rival Rack Server.”
The use of the Win32 API in Windows CE enables tens of thousands of Windows programmers to write applications for an entirely new class of systems.
“These were earmarked for college students and they went in. I need you to promise that you will make due on this for me. Can you handle it.”

Microsoft Windows 1.0 was going to great things for people…
I took him at his word, and plunged ahead, though I was fortunate enough to hand on to the family station wagon. Inside six months, I was totally immersed in Windows programming, and —
“Have been ever since. That’s my story.”
In the intervening years, I have written code for every version of Windows, written about writing code for most of the serious programming journals (including Dr. Dobbs ), and counting this one, published three books on Windows programming.
I can honestly say that I never met a Windows I didn’t like, and Windows CE is far and away my favorite so far.

Security researchers can figure out how software applications and the operating system can come from, configure, and repair undesirable behaviors while teaching us valuable lessons.
After reading this book, you will have a better understanding of how windows architecture works.

How we got started?
We built a Windows emulator for Android and it worked out.
We wanted the capability of adding roms to the phone for games, especially classics like Super Mario.
Win32 subset API
Win32 is the small version of windows, traditionally used in our emulators and windows phones because 32 allows more flexibility for the screen with 32 bit functionality.
The XP kernel have required that we leave off certain features, or that these features were not placed properly.
With x32, we can use an algorithm to condense a 16 max, but preferably no more than 8 bit part into a 2 bit, and eventually, a one bit part, so that we could condense buttons and icons in the pool level cloud interface (the top of the phone) into a bit. That would give us a lot of pixel power!
We used Windows ME as the model line for this, because it had a x24 assembly, and used engines from other programs to simulate the other functions of the computer. Windows itself, was essentially stripped naked before it was sent to the laptop unit, so we were able to piece together parts of the computer to make a whole.
You will see some of this in Windows Embedded CE, hence the name Embedded.

Another Example of Embedded Systems – using microsoft as the back drop for both devices, in a chip, they were able to be linked together.
With mirroring, it reads the chip, remembers what it needs to remember, and then produces it using an emulated screen.
In the app store, we freeze these using cold fusion and other (#palm-pilot), and then the system can use it.
