Facsimile –
Imagine.
A young assassin,no more than a boy really, is lying carefully hidden in the long green and black bulrushes that grow in great profusion along the rivers of the Vallombrosa.

He has been waiting for a long time but he is a patient creature in his way and the thing he waits for is perhaps more precious to him than life.
“He still feels like crashing **** ****. Sry.”
-Mr. Cheebs
Beside him are a bow of yew and arrows tipped with black country steel capable of penetrating even the costliest armour if you are close enough.

“Drysnitching? More like a spinula.”
Not that there will be any need for that today…

Listen.
The Sanctuary of the Redeemers on Shotover Scarp is named after a damned lie, for there is no redemption that goes on there and less sanctuary. The country around it is full of scrub and spindly weeds, and you can barely tell the difference between summer and winter — which is to say that it is always bloody freezing no matter what the time of year. The Sanctuary itself is visible for miles when there is no filty smog obscuring it, which is rare, and is made off flint, concrete and rice flour. The flour makes the concrete harder than rock and this is one of the reasons that the prison, for this is what it truly is, has resisted the many attempts to take it by siege (dummy), attempts now considered so futile that no one has tried to take Shotover Sanctuary for hundreds of years.
Game of war, Here We Go!!
-Foxhall Edwords

Then the arrow, sharp as hate, shears through the same air she blesses and misses her by several feet. And she’s off, web strength along with her grace convey her whiteness back into the air and away to safety. The young man is standing now and watching the swan escape.

I came alone and I go as a stranger. I do not know who I am, or what I have been.
-Aurangzeb
